Re:                    Anticipated Services Page

Question:           Who should be listed as the service provider for "T" (extracurricular) services?

Response:          The provider for "T" services is the primary provider

From:                SEK Interlocal MIS Department

Example:            Transportation

The "T" setting is non-chargeable service.  It is not counted as part of the "in-seat" services on the Anticipated Services Page.  According to the Data Dictionary, the "T" Extracurricular setting is used for activities outside of the accredited school day.  Settings which may fall into this category include counseling, health services, athletics, supported transportation, recreational activities, special interest groups or clubs, sponsored by the public agency.  The Anticipated Services Page does not delineate the amount of time the student spends in "T" activities.  It only communicates that the student is involved in "T" activities.

Transportation, or any of the other activities may be included on the IEP as a related service if it is supported or a part of the student's need to derive reasonable educational benefit.  However, the time spent in these activities outside the regular school day is not recorded on the IEP.  The "T" code is used with the name of the primary provider to report the student is engaged in these types of extracurricular activities.

Please record "T" activities with the name of the primary provider.  Retain this memo with your Interlocal Professional Notebook.
