Communication Council Information

Schedule and Guidelines

The Communications Council is designed to allow discussion of items of concern pertaining to subjects not ordinarily considered in negotiations.  Meetings take place six times during the year, beginning in September.  Meeting dates, times, and locations are jointly selected by the President of the SKIEA and the Interlocal Director (or their designees).

Membership in the Council includes professional employees representing the various geographical and special needs areas, Interlocal administrators, District and Building administrators, and Board Members.

Items may be submitted for consideration and discussion by the Communication Council using the following guidelines:

List in detail items you would like discussed.  One word items are not acceptable; please explain them.  Personal items, items pertaining to classified staff, items specific to one building, one grade or one incident should be considered through the building level first before submitting to the Council.  Please include your name; there may be a need to ask you more about your question.  Your questions will not be released to administration without your permission.
