Alternate Assessment

For teachers in Inclusion/Resource who may have a student taking the alternate assessment.
Please make sure this is in your schedule for your students who will be taking Alternate Assessments. If you do not personally register your students for the alternate assessment, be sure to check with the building or district test coordinator to make sure registration is accomplished. For teachers serving out of district kids in a multiple-district program, please let me know who is registering the student. I will need student name and district and who has registered the student for the alternate. Assessment results of students taking the alternate and attending school in another district should be reported by the home school district. Teachers, for students taking the alternate assessment this year, you should begin selecting KAA indicators right away and print evidence labels.

Test Registration for Alternate Assessments
Special Education Teachers can now choose their Kansas Alternate Assessment (KAA)indicators on the CETE web site at 222.cete.us <http://www.cete.us/>
But, first the school building/district must submit a TEST record registering students for the KAA. Then teachers sign on to the CETE web site, choose KAA indicators and print Evidence Labels.

In order to complete the KAA in a timely fashion KSDE recommends that districts register students for the KAA beginning now, but no later than January15.
Note: The window for administration (collecting portfolio samples) opens January 5 and closes April 14.
