Communication Council February Meeting

A meeting of the Interlocal #637 Communication Council was held on Feb. 18, 2010. Members present were Sheena Parks (chairperson), Darrick Perry, Rhonda Bradshaw, Vicki Miller, Keith Ritchey, Dennis Burke, Vicki Couch, Linda Knoll, Warren McGown, Mary Geier, Nicky Hastings, Carolyn Allmond, Melinda Adair, Becky Bedene, Lorna Belew, Daria Condon, Destry Brown, Larry Coltrane, and Dan Duling.
Discussion of possible grants and inservice information received by the building principals through the PDC Toolbox was led my Mr. Duling.
The need for additional programming for some levels of functioning was raised. The number of students that might fall into this category will be further reviewed by the school psychologists.
The procedures and practices for determining the level of teacher and paraprofessional staff assigned to a building was reviewed and discussed.
Occupational therapy and physical therapy services to students by paraprofessionals and the documentation provided to special education teachers was reviewed.
A review of the current financial status of the Interlocal was presented and discussed.
The next Communication Council meeting will be April 29, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Interlocal Office.
