Interlocal Practices regarding CPI Training:
The SEK Interlocal will provide CPI Training to any staff that will be, or anticipates they will be working with students who may require Emergency Safety Intervention (ESI) as defined by Kansas law. Staff working with students who may require ESI will have initial CPI training followed by a 2nd recertification the following year. After two trainings, further recertification will occur every other year unless the employee or administration request additional training.

Once registered:

If you are an initial trainee, you will be sent a follow up email with login information to the Flex Learning Modules. You must complete the online modules prior to the training day.

If you are a re-certification, you will be given all needed materials the day of the training.

Initial trainings will utilize the FLEX training resources --- completing online modules prior to the training, participants time in the classroom will be a little over 3 hours.

Trainers can see how much time is spent working on the online modules and how many times the test is taken before a passing score is achieved --- please spend a reasonable amount of time on each module.

If you haven't made it to a recertification class prior to your Blue Card expiring, DON'T PANIC! Just make sure to get signed up for the next available recertification class. If your Blue Card is over 4 months expired, contact a Trainer prior to signing up for a class.

Thanks from your CPI Trainers!
Nick Born, Lisa Boyd, Tim Casper, and Keith Overton
